NOT A CITY GIRL

I lived in a fairly large city when I was fresh out of high school. This was like being on a different planet. I was raised on a dead end dirt road a mile from the closest neighbor. So, when I found myself in a big city at the age of 18 1/2, I was terrified!! The only place I knew how to get to was my job, and back home. Before I moved in my own apartment I lived with roommates, and it was the "not so good" part of town. I would hear gunshot all through the night. This was scary, I had been around gunshot before, but during hunting season. This was not shots of a deer hunter I was hearing. It didn't take me long to figure out this place was not for me!!!
I think some people were meant to be country folks. I know, cause I'm one of them. I don't have anything against city folks, I just wasn't cut out to be one. I enjoy being a few blocks from my closest neighbor. The noise of the traffic and everything is enough to drive me crazy. Alot of people would go crazy out here in the country. Sometimes it's days before I even go to the store. The nearest town to really shop is 30 min. away. We have little dollar stores close, but that's it. I don't mind, cause I'm not big on shopping, anyway. Everybody says, it's so handy to be in the city. If you need something you just go get it. The little bit I lived in the city, I learned real quick it wasn't for me. I was born and raised in the country, and that's where I'll die.
